Chaotic Mass Series

2017
Strips of TNT (non-woven fabric)
variable dimensions

Strips of non-woven fabric, kept separate in various bags of different colors – corresponding to human skin tones – begin to be distributed, eventually expanding throughout the space and blending together. This was done during a demonstration for culture and against censorship in art, in Praça Mauá in Rio de Janeiro, in front of the Rio Art Museum. And at the Vade Retro block party in homage to Aimberê César.

No more censorship! 2017

Suely Farhi explores the intersection between word and space, creating works that transform objects into writings and vice versa, activating the sense of language in the environment. Her research seeks to rescue worn-out words, giving them new life and depth, reflecting on the relationship between language and spatial experience.
