Immensity

laboratory of lost feelings

1996
Video

This poem, from 1996, was initially performed on small pieces of paper distributed to people at events, provoking reflection on the infinite scales beyond the human one. It was later performed as a piece where I walked through the theater audience playing Für Elise on a music box, while Viviane Mosé and Alex Hamburger distributed the printed word in small format. When I arrived on stage, dressed in white, I finished spinning the music box and remained still. It also participated in the Nano exhibition where the printed word was inside a jewelry box measuring 1.5 cm. In 1999, I transformed it into a video.

Suely Farhi explores the intersection between word and space, creating works that transform objects into writings and vice versa, activating the sense of language in the environment. Her research seeks to rescue worn-out words, giving them new life and depth, reflecting on the relationship between language and spatial experience.
