It's an interactive sketch, to turns visible the abstract power of the encontres. The relations manifest and we enter in contact body to body in the same present.

Like an inverseof Baba Antropofágica (Lygia Clark). In Baba each one took from his mouth a line with own saliva to cover one person. From everybody to a person. In Chaotic Mass the way is from a person to everybody and from everybody to each one. The tapes are compressed in the same place to expand through the space and create sensible relationship between the people. Each individual action is felt to the others participants, which shows different powers of each one. Everybody acts and everybody feel the power of each action. We win the conscience in our body that we are active and passive simultaneously. Yes, like actually we are.

The chaotic mass series has a long history...

Walking through the streets of the city center in the early 90s, I saw a factory with very thin silver plastic waste and – fascinated by the material – I carried it to my studio. When I arrived and I was going to check that material, I opened the 300ml garbage bag and it flowed like water. I noticed the infinite expansion of this material that had elasticity in itself. I started experimenting at dance parties, yes, it worked as I thought, I grew the volume, and it flew and I began to see that it represented the invisible of encounters beyond the complicity of making the interactive game that was established happen, tensions appeared, care for the other, with oneself, meetings and separations.

The last party I tried it on I found that it couldn't grow any more. because there was a small flaw in this material used, it did not break easily, and could be dangerous in the face of very strong tensions.

I would need another material.

Years later... Already in this century, I went to work at the Pimpolhos Samba School in Grande Rio. And... I came across a huge diversity of materials! The tnt was there. I soon saw that it was easy to leave... There was the solution... The Chaotic Mass would return!

I set out to try it out on my favorite pad, the Vade Retro Abacaxi, it worked really well! The joy returned, and the wind in the open air helped to make it light. The theme of the Bloco was Vade Retro Caveirão, and I launched the primaries in three colors and black and white.

The Primaries of the Massa Caótica series, 2007, at the Bloco Vade Retro Abacaxi

In 2009, I put it on the pad again, when the theme was Vade Retro Casino Financeiro, I made another insertion of the Massa Caótica series, A Massa America Way of Life. that we have as a record the video of Luis Carlos Carvalho, I inserted the pink world... In a shopping cart... https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=v1W-w5n0IzI

With the concern to experiment, the visuality in life, few images were made.

In 2011, also in the Bloco Vade Retro Abacaxi, Vade Retro Rio landscape advertising. The Chaotic Mass I made was called "Multicolored Joy".

"Multicolored Joy".,2011

In 2013, also in the same Bloco, a year that would be remarkable for Brazil and the world, the chaotic mass would be about the indigenous people when they were fighting against eviction in Aldeia Maracanã. And in homage to the waters I made the Blue Chain.

In 2015, the theme of the block was Vade Retro Tabu, and the mass had the title Massa Dupla. It was the beginning of the strong ideological division. There were two packages, one in violet tones and the other in greenish tones. The quest was to try to mix it all up again.

2015, Double Mass

In 2016 I made the Critical Mass at Gira dos Jovens

We needed to understand everything that was happening in the country, the impeachment without cause, a coup. A historic time when macabre forces masquerading as ultraconservatives were on the rise.

In the following year, 2017 was the last time that the pasta came out together with the Bloco Vade Retro Abacaxi, where we paid tribute to one of the founders of the Bloco, the iconic Aimberê Cesar, who passed away at the end of 2016. And the pasta of the year was Embola e Rola in honor of his work Surubinha Interracial. Which I redone in 2019.

Embola e Rola in the act Censura Nunca Mais ( censorship never again, 2019)

At Parque Lage, Escola de Artes Visuais, in 2018, we produced a big party in honor of Aimberê César where I put the dough on several occasions.

At Viva Aimberê, Massa Ígnea, there was also b&w pasta and Embola e Rola

Soon I will make Cobra Rosa
